My decision on the film genre i want to work in (AS)

After doing some general research in a variety of genres I have decided I want to work in the physiological thriller genre as that's the genre that interests me most.

I have also conducted research in that particular genre (psychogical thriller) to gain a better understanding of it in terms of  narrative, character types, film language/iconography and intended effect.

The films I have researched within the genre are:


  • Black Swan
  • Shutter Island
  • Bourne Identity
  • The Sixth Sense

Analysis of Physiological thriller opening scenes (AS)

The Black Swan Opening Sequence  The titles are introduced on a black background with creates a sense of mystery and darkness Scene begins with slow classical music.
